About Erika Delco, LCSW
Therapy for adults in-person in Setauket, NY and online across New York.
Hi, I’m Erika Delco. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach who works with adults who have ongoing challenges with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop dwelling on negative thoughts and start helping you make progress towards your goals.
My Journey To Becoming A Therapist
I have battled with my own emotional and mental health problems. My struggles are what helped empower me with the ability to identify with other people’s pain.
I know first hand the incredible effect a great therapist can have. Through my own struggles with anxiety and body image, I understand that these things can make you feel stuck. In therapy, I learned that nothing will change if nothing changes. Believing you can feel better is scary. Asking for help is scary. Deciding to make a change and booking an appointment is not!
My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today.
Helping People Is What I Look Forward To Every Day
Being a therapist is rewarding. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and watching them transform their lives. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is celebrating when my client’s make progress.
I am committed to helping you make progress towards your goals.
I Have A Genuine Interest In Others And Bring Supportive And Encouraging Energy To Sessions.
I have a natural ability to:
Understand people’s experiences
Uncover what’s under the surface
Collaborate with people to set goals and help them reach them
Help clients heal their past and manage the present
People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can be fully present for people’s stories, even if they are difficult stories.
Our Sessions Are Focused On You
Sessions will provide you with the space to focus on yourself without feeling selfish. In feeling safe and comfortable, you’ll be able to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals and focus on yourself without feeling selfish.
It’s important to me to provide a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and focus on setting goals and working on reaching them together. There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to counseling. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
As A Therapist and Health Coach, I Embrace The Following Philosophies
I believe that you deserve to feel better
I believe that there is no shame in asking for help
I believe that we only heal if we take care of ourselves
I believe that we can do hard things like seeking help and we can do them and live better for it
I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do
My Professional Background

In 2012, I became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I recently completed a certification in Emotional Eating through IIN.
